From Fire to Footsteps:
Going Back to the Moon
The 2027 Liquid Propulsion Symposium January 30th-31st, 2027
Get ready for two incredible days of liquid rocketry, hands-on demonstrations, world-class speakers, engineering, recruiting, and networking at the 2027 Liquid Propulsion Symposium.
This year’s lineup includes Tom Mueller, Zach Sander, and dozens of other outstanding speakers — plus more live LOX loading, BLEVE, and tank burst demonstrations. The Project Exposition Hangar with 40+ projects, plus machine shop and welding classes, our after-party on the tarmac, and Industry Day on Sunday.
Sunday’s Industry Day is expanding for 2027, with 15-20 aerospace and space companies expected to participate through recruiting tables, company presentations, conversations with student teams, and opportunities to learn about internships and careers.
If your team is designing, building, testing, or flying liquid-propellant rockets, this is the event you don't want to miss.
Pre-registration for school liquid rocketry teams opens October 1st and general registration opens Nov. 1st. Space is extremely limited at 450 seats — and will sell out — so register early.
Watch the Registration page for details on team pre-registration, general registration, schedules, speakers, demonstrations, Industry Day participants, and more.
We’ll see you at the 2027 Liquid Propulsion Symposium.
The Liquid Propulsion Symposium Organizing Team
The Oshkosh of Liquid Propulsion
The Liquid Propulsion Symposium is the only annual event dedicated exclusively to liquid rocket propulsion, bringing together over 450 attendees from across the country for two days of fundamental and advanced discussions. Featuring more than 45+ of the top university liquid rocket teams, 25+ distinguished speakers, and a project showcase with dozens of student and amateur builds, the symposium is a hub for knowledge sharing, inspiration, and hands-on learning.
Experience live tank burst tests, LOX loading demonstrations, and an up-close look at bipropellant, hybrid, and lander rocket systems. Connect with industry experts, explore cutting-edge technology, and take advantage of valuable recruiting opportunities for the next generation of rocket engineers.
Organized entirely by volunteers and operated as a non-profit collaboration between Friends of Amateur Rocketry and Flabob Airport’s SARTEC Rocket Lab, this unique gathering exists to support and advance the liquid rocketry community—and to inspire more universities to push the boundaries of liquid rocket development.
2027 Tickets & Registration
TICKETS FOR THE 2027 LIQUID PROPULSION SYMPOSIUM WILL BE RELEASED IN TWO WAVES:
TICKETS: Pre-registration and General Admission tickets are $30. This fee covers all event activities Saturday and Sunday, as well as complimentary meals and the after-party.
PRE-REGISTRATION: University, College, or other school teams that are specifically working on liquid rockets will have an opportunity to pre-register a small number of team members during the month of October. This limited release is designed to ensure that every school or the most schools with liquid rocket teams have at least some representation. See the registration page for details.
GENERAL TICKETS: Tickets for additional team members working on liquid rockets, industry professionals, or other academics will open up on November 1st (midnight PST). Last year the General Admission tickets sold out within 16 hours, so set your clocks.
There will not be tickets sold or available at the door. Everybody arriving must have an email confirmation ticket in their name and must be ready to show ID to collect their badge.
